snom technology and Junghanns.NET expand collaboration

snom technology, manufacturer of  VoIP phones, and VoIP solution provider Junghanns.NET announce the expansion of their partnership at the CeBIT 2007. Through this closer cooperation the two Berlin companies guarantee top-quality IP telephony on the basis of open source software.

In a first step, snom and Junghanns.NET concentrate on the well-known open source PBX software Asterisk and, primarily, address its European users with their specific specifications and requirements, focussing on professional and private users as well as on the steadily growing Asterisk community. The goal of the partnership is a stable package solution for the use on landline and mobile phone nets under Asterisk.

"With our Voice over IP telephones, snom has been supporting open source solutions for many years," says Dr. Michael Knieling, snom's Executive Director for Sales and Marketing. "With their software and products, Junghanns.NET makes the professional use of Asterisk in Europe possible and opens new perspectives for us with regard to our customers."

Thanks to the partnership, Junghanns.NET with their software BRIstuff is now able to offer their customers and Asterisk users all functionalities of the snom phones. "From our point of view, where the quality is concerned the telephones made by snom are the best available for Voice over IP and Asterisk," says Jens-Uwe Junghanns, one of the founders of  Junghanns.NET GmbH. "We set great store on having our software remain open source.  With snom we have found a partner who supports this idea and allows the Asterisk community  access to high-quality telephony."
