snom and Patton Announce Interoperability between snom Phones and Patton’s IP-PBX

Strategic partnership expands VoIP offerings for the SMB

snom technology AG, developer and manufacturer of Voice-over-IP (VoIP) telephones, today announced a strategic partnership with Patton Electronics Company, the industry leader in business-class network access, connectivity and VoIP equipment. Now, Patton's SIPxNANO™ IP-PBX is completely interoperable with snom's VoIP phones.

"Highly adaptable and interoperable solutions are what markets in transition NEED" said Burton A. Patton, executive vice president of Patton. "Patton and snom now deliver secure, enterprise-proven VoIP solutions that work in any networking environment."

Together, snom phones with Patton's SIPxNANO IP-PBX and SmartNode™ VoIP gateways offer a complete Enterprise Telephony system for small and medium businesses.

Patton's SIPxNANO IP-PBX delivers Fortune-500 communications for offices with up to 30 extensions. The ultra-miniature appliance offers such high-end features as Web-based configuration for users and administrators, auto-attendant, music on hold, voicemail, 3-digit dialing, hunt groups and more. With support for fully converged networking, users can send and receive voice messages as email attachments.

"Patton's SIPxNANO IP-PBX offers a high-end solution for SMBs," said Michael Knieling, CFO and executive vice president of marketing and sales for snom. "Combined with snom's family of phones, companies can now have a VoIP phone system up and running easily and quickly, with all of the features of a large enterprise solution."

"Interoperability is the game," said Joseph Gomez, senior product line manager at Patton. "We are very pleased to have achieved snom certification. It offers added assurance to small businesses that do not have time to play with complex or non-standard systems. Patton's VoIP equipment has an industry reputation as the most interoperable, and our IP-PBX is 100 percent standard SIP. We knew it would pass."

All snom VoIP telephones, including the 300, 320, 360 and 370, are highly configurable and easy to manage through the keypad-cursor, dedicated function keys and menus, or Web browser, and offer user-friendly features like full-programmable keys and downloadable ringtones. snom phones offer a complete implementation of the IETF's latest recommendations for standards-based authentication and content security (SIP(s)/sRTP).

snom recently announced increased security to combine its phones with BorderWare's SIPassure VoIP Security Gateway solution, eliminating the need for PBX SRTP and TLS functionality. The most recently launched snom 370 features a larger display, expanded memory and a multicast paging mode, offering business users a simple and secure way to manage calls.

snom will be exhibiting at Spring VON (booth #1341) in San Jose March 19-22.
