snom and ADDIX Announce Interoperability of snom’s VoIP telephones and the Asterisk-based IP PBX Astimax

Partnership results from discussions at CeBIT

snom technology AG, manufacturer of Voice-over-IP (VoIP) phones, and ADDIX, manufacturer of the Asterisk®-based IP PBX Astimax, today announced that all snom phones, from the entry-level snom 300 to the latest snom 370, are now interoperable with the IP PBX Astimax.

"Our common goal is to ensure a comprehensive and fast support chain for the European market," said Dr. Michael Knieling, snom's executive director for sales and marketing. "This partnership once again meets the high standards in reliability and quality needed to provide small- and medium-sized enterprises in Germany and Europe with the support they need from VoIP-based solutions."

The partnership with ADDIX enables snom phones to be deployed with Astimax, the most widely sold Asterisk-based PBX in Germany. The agreement ensures that snom phones will be considered for larger open source VoIP installations. Depending on the model, Astimax PBXs can handle up to 3,000 snom phones. In addition, snom's partnerships with companies such as Ingate and BorderWare guarantee an additional layer of security resulting from built-in encryption technology in its phones.

"In daily use, high quality, combined with simplicity and comfort, are a must-have in all VoIP solutions. Importantly, snom phones meet all of these criteria completely," said ADDIX manager Björn Schwarze. "All functionalities of Astimax PBXs including IVR, ACD, call forwarding, and call pickup, can be used seamlessly with snom's phones."
