Microsoft showing Voice over IP at the CeBIT for the first time ever and equipping their booth with snom VoIP phones for this

This will be the first CeBIT where it is possible to voip at the booth of the software giant. For this purpose the Berlin company snom is furnishing  high-quality and secure IP telephones from the basic model snom 300 to the executive phone snom 360. Both companies are focussing on combining business software and VoIP telephony solutions for modern enterprises who require highly efficient communications.

In addition to the snom phones the IP PBX solution developed by snom technology partner pbxnsip, Inc., will be employed and enable a complex real telephony infrastructure. Besides snom's corded IP telephones and Wireless Headset Adapter it will also include VoIP DECT products. The connection to landlines (ISDN) will be made via the Dialogic and Audiocodes VoIP gateways for the Microsoft compabitibility program.

The internal e-mail, voice mail, fax and Messenger communication is furnished by the Microsoft Unified Communication range of products consisting of Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS), Microsoft Office Communicator (OC), etc. The direct integration of snom phones and the pbxnsip IP PBX solution makes phone system features possible that would otherwise require an expensive customized integration.

They include:

• E-mail account management via voice command


• E-mail readout over the phone


• Voice command of calendar


• Playing back voice mail / answering machine

Furthermore it is possible to make calls directly from the Exchange 2007 directory. For example, after listening to an e-mail readout it is possible to establish a connection to the phone used by the sender of the e-mail, whether it is an extension, home, or cell phone number.
