snom transfers rights for snom 4S VoIP software to newly founded 4S newcom GmbH

Continuing to refine its market strategy as an open systems provider of VoIP business telephones, snom technology has elected to transfer rights to its multimode, SIP-based snom 4S IP communications suite to 4S newcom GmbH (www.4Snewcom.de), a newly-formed company that will take over global sales, development and support for the product line.

The move will help snom focus on its main mission, developing interoperable VoIP telephones and working aggressively with global providers of IP telephone system software to provide complete, multivendor solutions.

Interoperability with SIP-based telephone systems and system components is a key goal for snom, whose phones are certified compatible with open source products including Asterisk, SER and sipXpbx, and with commercial solutions from Broadsoft, Sylantro, Epygi, Pingtel, pbxnsip, InGate, VegaStream, Digium, Kapsch and many more.

The 4S software suite consists of

  • the 4S IP PBX

  • the 4S proxy/registrar

  • the 4S Media Server

  • and the 4S Session Border Controller (NAT filter).

The 4S ITSP is a scalable system, engineered to help Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSPs) provide their customers with seamless voice and multimedia services.
