snom donates VoIP telephones to the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts

snom technology AG is equipping the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts with six IP telephones: from the starter model snom 300 to the high-grade, secure business model snom 360. The donation will enable students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology to work in a practical and application-oriented manner in the area of Voice-over IP.

The Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts (FHH; Fachhochschule Hannover) is extending the Department of Communication Technology in the university's Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, shaping itself up for the future. A central focus in this regard is in particular NGN - Next Generation Network - technologies.

Professor of Engineering Jörg Wehmeier from the Department of Communication Technology - formerly a Development Manager in the communications industry - has been teaching at the FHH since September 2005. Since that time, he has set up various laboratory experiments with the support of snom technology AG as well as funkwerk enterprise communication.

Using servers and telephones in lectures, projects and in the laboratory, FHH students can now learn about principles of VoIP technologies as well as quality and security aspects - and not just from a theoretical perspective.
