snom's new VoIP Box is revolutionizing VoIP telephony in small and medium-sized enterprizes and is shown at CeBIT Australia, (24-26 May)
After the enormous response to the snom IP PBX Box launch at CeBIT Germany, it's now Australia's turn: The 9x8x4 cm-small SIP-based snom VoIP Box is suitable for companies with up to 50 users. It serves as a complete solution for an IP telephone system that can be operated independently of computer or server, and can be integrated into a local network without any problems.
While present-day telephony solutions consist of telephone switch software, software for extended performance features such as voicemail or conferences, and a hardware gateway for connection to the ISDN or analog fixed-line network, the snom Box, together with a VoIP account of a VoIP service provider, offers everything in one and therefore saves unnecessary expenditure for hardware components (gateway, server).
The Box contains a compact integrated hardware platform as well as the snom 4S software with proxy and media server, making the installation of the IP telephone system as easy as ABC! The Box doesn't contain any moveable parts such as hard drives or ventilators, and is therefore durable and extremely low-maintenance. What's more, it is completely soundless. After just a few minutes to install the Box, a perfectly functioning telephone system is immediately ready to use.
"The significance of following a wildly successful BOX launch at CeBIT Hannover with a launch at CeBIT Sydney was an opportunity we didn't want to miss out on", says Scott Rigby from the Melbourne-based snom Distributor, Enabled Networks. "The market for embedded devices is just starting to open up in Australia, and this tiny but uber-powerful IP PBX is going to cause a fair bit of eye-popping and jaw-dropping. It will raise the bar for embedded device applications in this country."
Rigby adds: "It's fine for IT Hobbyists to run free IP PBX software on an old PC and call it a solution, but SME's want "set and forget" reliability and a manufacturer behind the product that responds rapidly to any issues that may arise. This definately puts Snom and the "BOX" in a class of it's own".
The German developer and manufacturer of VoIP telephones and software is preparing itself internationally for the expected Voice-over-IP boom of the next few years and is continuously expanding its worldwide sales network at full throttle. "The partnership with Enabled Network Australia is a further step regarding snom's global reach", says Dr. Michael Knieling, Executive Director at snom technology AG. In order to further extend the distributor network snom now has its sights set above all on potential resellers in Canada, Taiwan and China as well as in Russia and the Baltic States.
