snom to debut VoIP Box and complete SIP-based SME VoIP solution

snom technology AG will demonstrate components of a secure, standards-based VoIP solution for small- and medium-sized enterprises at two key industry events in early March. Debuting will be the secure, feature-rich snom 360 SIP telephone compatible software-based snom 4S IP PBX -- a complete SIP proxy/media server with built-in auto-attendant, voice messaging and sophisticated call control and administration features. Also shown at CeBIT will be the new snom VoIP Box -- a complete, 50-user 4S SIP IP PBX in a compact network appliance.

The snom 360 SIP telephone provides excellent audio quality, dedicated function keys, 12 programmable keys and a large, moveable display; and supports sophisticated features to enhance worker productivity and simplify administration. In compliance with latest IETF recommendations, the snom 360 supports SRTP (Secure Real Time Protocol) and SIPS (SIP-Secure) for the highest level of VoIP security. As with all snom products, the snom 360's standards-based architecture is highly interoperable with SIP-based equipment and software from a growing list of vendors, eliminating lock-in and reducing TCO.

The snom 4S IP PBX is a software-based SIP communications server comprising the 4S Proxy for the management of user and registration data and the 4S Media Server for voicemail, auto-attendant, conferencing and other media processing applications. All features of a modern telecommunications system are present and can be extended as desired. The pure software solution can be adapted quickly and flexibly to new requirements and environments.

The 9 x 8 x 4 cm snom VoIP Box is a 50-user implementation of the snom 4S IP PBX in a compact network appliance, ideal for small- to medium-sized enterprises requiring a powerful, secure and cost-effective IP voice solution. The durable, low-maintenance integrated hardware platform has no moving parts; it hosts a complete snom 4S SIP proxy and media server supporting a full enterprise PBX feature set, plus voice messaging, conferencing and other applications.
