snom to Debut Secure, Standard SIP-Based VoIP Business Telephone snom 360 at VON and CeBIT
snom technology AG will introduce the snom 360 - a secure, SIP-based IP business telephone - at two key industry events in early March. Debut of the snom 360 at Spring VON (San Jose, CA, March 7-10) and CeBIT 2005 (Hanover, Germany, March 10-16) will mark the launch of a new series of feature-rich SIP-based VoIP phones for small and medium-sized enterprises.
The snom 360 targets users who demand excellent audio quality, the latest security standards, ease of use and powerful business telephone features.
Dedicated keys insure quick access to key audio and call control functions, while context-sensitive menus permit efficient management of relevant capabilities as calls progress. 12 programmable keys can be allocated as desired. "Busy lamp" LEDs let callers see if colleagues are available. The snom 360's backlit graphical display is moveable, and can be positioned for easy reading at any angle.
Additional sophisticated call control features, full call detail, configuration options and online help can be accessed via browser from the attached PC. The snom 360 also offers numerous features to speed installation, maintenance and administration of the 360 telephone and its supporting VoIP system.
SIP Insures Greater Independence
"Anyone who opts for VoIP on the basis of the open standard SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is at the same time securing greater freedom of choice," says snom's founder and CEO Dr. Christian Stredicke. "Most VoIP providers see SIP as the communication protocol of the future." The great advantage lies in the fact that standard SIP components can be combined, without the user having to tie him or herself to one individual provider.
Maximum Security and Data Protection
In order to avoid trouble from unwanted attacks on speech data, the snom 360 supports the security standards SRTP (Secure Realtime Transport Protocol) and SIPS (SIP Secure) and is therefore in accordance with current recommendations of the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) for protection against eavesdropping and data theft.
Complete VoIP Structure
For anyone who wishes to establish a SIP-based VoIP network, snom also offers the complete snom 4S software suite, comprising a proxy/registrar for administering user and registration data, a media server for media stream processing in VoIP environments (e.g. voicemail, conference calls, etc.) and a NAT filter for connecting terminals on private networks to an existing VoIP infrastructure. 4S components can be applied individually or combined to satisfy individual requirements.
