From the snom 370 (gray scale) to the snom 821 (color screen) we support Video Streaming to the phone via our integrated XML-mini-browser in addition to standard OCS and Lync features. This can be pretty handy if you want to integrate scenarios such as entry systems with a video camera or you want to monitor security cameras from your phone from the comfort of your office.  With a third-party video middleware you can transform any video format/stream (even live TV) to your phone’s display.

Gateway vendors such as Farrari, NET/Quintum and Audiocodes offer a simple and efficient solution for “snom UC edition” phone users and providers/integrators wishing to guarantee telephony connectivity in such a scenario by providing stand-alone survivability (SAS) service integrated in a Voice-over-IP (VoIP) media gateway.

snom phones can have a 2nd account on the phone and use this one as a failover account. If a system failure occurs, the phone automatically uses the Gateway as emergency “PBX” and is able to offer basic call routing. Calls are locally maintained thanks to this unique feature.

The snom 821 and snom 870 executive desk phones are the only fully featured WLAN desk phones on the market.

They are also unique with their 5-way conference bridge built in natively on the phones also allowing for calls to be dragged and dropped into conferences (snom 870).
