First XML-Contest September 2007

Everyone knows the classical examples of XML applications:

  • Stock information
  • Weather

We say it's time to stop these boring approaches to a great tool and start using it!

The contest is divided into two categories, business applications and lifestyle/fun applications. Each contestant may submit one or more entries in each category. The application source code must be made available to the community under the FreeBSD license (either over this WIKI or any other third party page as a download). A link to a running version / Demo must also be included.

The XML Wiki page is at the core of the "eXtreMeLy snomlified!" contest .  This is where the contestants can exchange thoughts and where they publish their entries.  The official link is: http://contest.snom.com

What is it about?

Since Firmware version 7.1.17 all snom 3xx phone models support the XML-Minibrowser.  Now snom is looking for the coolest XML application in the following categories:

  • Business
  • Lifestyle

Who can participate?

All programmers worldwide who have XML skills are invited to participate and to submit their entries.

How can I participate?

Click on the link to the registration form and register with your e-mail address, address of residence, and your preferred username.  As soon as you have accepted the terms and conditions, you will receive an E-mail with the access data for the Wiki.

The Wiki is crucial for the contest.  Here each contestant will create a page where he or she outlines his/her idea(s).  As soon as he or she publishes his entry on his page, it will be considered as having been officially entered.
 

What do I have to keep in mind?

While programming your application, the source code must be published under the terms of the BSD-licence.  It is thus accessible for everyone and assigned to the public.  Anyone mas use of modify it, as long as they retain the copyright notice of the original author.

Contest entries can only be accepted if they have been created by the contestants in their entirety.
