International sales

02/08 - International Sales – Channel and/or Key Account (m/f)

We are expanding our worldwide sales activities and are looking for experienced sales representatives (both channel sales and key account management) in all regions except North America.  Depending on priorities and prior experience, the successful candidate will acquire new customers and develop and manage existing channel partners and/or key accounts in the areas telephony carriers, ITSP, and telecommunications.  Place of work will be Berlin for the time being.

The successful candidate

  • must have work experience in international sales of  IT network or telecommunications hardware
  • must show evidence of sales successes
  • must be a strong closer
  • must have an active national and international network in telecommunications (distributors, customers, partner, opinion makers, ...).
  • Excellent communication skills, flexibility, and commitment are fundamentals of the position.
  • The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel within Germany as well as abroad.
  • Applicants must be fluent in spoken and written German and English and have a valid work permit for Germany. Fluency or a good working knowledge of a third language is desirable, but not a prerequisite.

Development

04/08 – Development of Firmware for VoIP Phone (m/f)

The successful candidate’s  principal task will be the development of software for our VoIP phones.  Tasks may include, but are not limited to, the further development of our own SIP stack, the implementation of special VoIP applications, or customizing the firmware according to our customers’ specific requirements.  Depending on the task at hand, the successful candidate will work closely with Project Management.

Required qualifications:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or Computer Sciences/Information Technology, grade “sehr gut” (very good) or equivalent;
  • Extensive knowledge of  SIP protocol and VoIP technology;
  • Very good command of C++ programming;
  • Fluency in written and spoken English;
  • Valid work permit for Germany.

Experience in international project work desirable, but not a prerequisite.

Quality Control

05/08 – Quality Control - Firmware (m/f)

Our customers and partners appreciate the high performance and all-around technical features of our VoIP phones which is  based on the quality of the firmware developed exclusively by snom.  As part of our quality control system, the successful candidate will develop and implement reliable concepts for testing our firmware initially and continually in our daily business.   This includes, but is not limited to, specifying test cases, compiling and managing test data, organizing and conducting test runs and other software releases.

Required qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 – 3 years work experience in quality control for software and a degree in computer sciences, information technology, information systems or similar course of studies.
  • Knowledge of quality control measures for software development and enthusiasm in searching for and finding errors in innovative software solutions.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Linux systems, networks and network installations, and open standard IP PBX systems.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Valid permit to work in Germany.

Support

06/08– Support Engineer(m/f)

We aim to provide first-class support to our customers.  If you enjoy customer oriented work and consider yourself to be service provider, then our Support department is the place for you.

Additionally, training our technology and sales partners and our customers is a fundamental element of customer retention and consequently of the success of our products on the market.   

As an instructor, you will work closely with our customers as well as provide customer support and also develop, implement, and handle online training courses.

Required qualifications:

  • Successful completion of apprenticeship/vocational training as a “Fachinformatiker” or a degree in computer sciences/information technology.   Candidates with and without work experience will be considered for the position. 
  • Outstanding knowledge of  IP networks.
  • Basic knowledge of VoIP (open standard) and telecommunications. Experience with VoIP desirable, but not a prerequisite.
  • Familiarity with IP PBX systems, open source (Asterisk) as well as other SIP PBX solutions, desirable, but not a prerequisite.
  • Exceptionally strong customer orientation.
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English.

System Administrator

07/08 – System Administrator (m/f)

The successful candidate will be in charge of  maintaining and operating our server and client systems and will also assist all users within the company.  The main tasks include, but are not limited to, maintaining and operating our Windows and Linux-based servers and Exchange system and being the point of contact for networks, firewalls, data storage and backup, and web-based as well as Linux-based services.  The scope of duties encompasses the installation, configuration and maintenance of  individual workstations, and the proactive broaching of new themes and projects to develop our technical infrastructure further.  

Required qualifications:

  • Work experience in IT system administration;
  • A degree in an IT oriented field of study or an apprenticeship/vocational training in an IT field completed with very good grades.
  • Good knowledge of Windows server, Exchange and network technology; Windows XP and MS Office; Linux; data bases; firewalls and IT safety.

Systems Informatics Technician

08/08 Systems Informatics Technician / Electronics Technician (m/f)

 

We are looking for a technician to join the repairs team at our headquarters in Berlin.   The successful candidate's principal tasks will be the repairs of our phones in the areas hardware and software and the management of the lab which is also being used for development purposes.  You will therefore be working closely with Development, Customer Support, and Software Testing.  

Prerequisites for the position are:

  • Completed vocational training as "Systeminformatiker/in" (systems information technician), "Elektroniker/in in Informations- u. Telekommunikationstechnik" (electronics technician for information and telecommunications technology), "IT-System-Elektroniker/in" (IT systems electronics technician), "Elektroniker/in in Kommunikationstechnik" (electronics technician for communications technology) or equivalent completed training with good grades,
  • working knowledge of written and spoken English,
  • proficiency in soldering, incl. SMD
  • interest in VoIP phones and Linux operating systems.   

 

Your principal tasks after the on-the-job training period:

  • Working with the team to carry out the structured repair process
  • Analyzing and fixing errors, doing firmware updates
  • Working with the team to return phones to customers

This includes extensive negotiations for individual electronic components as well as complex negotiations for completed products.   You will work closely with project management.

The successful candidate will be actively involved in the expansion and organization of snom's hardware quality management.  You will work closely with all internal departments as well as with our suppliers in the Far East.  You must be able to process and analyze, using standard software tools, English data on product quality received from our suppliers. 

You will have to visit our suppliers on a regular basis for on-site inspections. 

The successful candidate must have:     

  • work experience in quality management and production preferably of phones as well as a degree in electrical engineering, industrial engineering, or related fields; 
  • experience in product level quality management;
  • experience in statiscal evaluations;

Office Manager Branch Taiwan

11/08 Office Manager Taiwan (m/f)

We are looking for an office manager for our new Taiwan office.  The successful candidate's duties will include the organization of the office and the development of business in close cooperation with snom's Berlin headquarters.  This involves keeping close contact with our suppliers in Taiwan, China, and Singapore.  You will also coordinate the development of sales activities in the Far East.  Your duties will require you to visit our partners in the region regularly. 

The successful candidate must be: 

  • fluent in spoken and written Chinese (Mandarin)
  • fluent in spoken and written English

and have:

  • a university degree or equivalent training/qualification
  • good organizational skills 
  • experience in the IT sector

Shipping and Logistics Manager

For the expansion of our shipping and logistics activities we are looking for an experienced shipping clerk or logistics manager.  The successful candidates's duties will coordinate the transportation of our merchandize from the Far East to Europe and the US and within Europe.  You will be in close contact with our suppliers and warehouse operators and optimize delivery times and transport costs.  

You have:

  • completed vocational training as a "Speditionskaufmann" (shipping clerk) or logistics manager or have a degree in a related field 
  • a minimum of 2 years work experience in shipping and logistics
  • a good knowledge of current transport costs for airfreight and seafreight
  • a good knowledge of INCO terms and customs modalities.
  • Flexibility and team spirit round off your profile.
