snom was the first IP phones manufacturer to make an XML-Contest in September 2007 and now we are proud to present here the winning applications of the XML Championship 2010 in the two categories

The winning applications in the Business category:
1st place: Twitter client
This application is a small twitter client that allows snom phones to search tweets based on a specified search criteria.

2nd place: Alarm Clock
An alarm clock which allow to enter wake up time in seconds, show the progress with the function key leds and uses the phone leds for the optical alarm.

I liked this application since I can see many uses for this, in a business day (time management), but also for home scenarios (cooking, etc.). This app is original, the graphics are good and it worked well without any additional configuration of the phone settings.

- I liked this application the most since it gives really useful information. Though it was listed in the Life Style category, I actually think it is a great application for business users, particularly those traveling often. What a convenient way to get a 3-day weather forecast right from your desk, at the touch of a button. Though this application only works on the 870, it is original, graphically pleasing and worked easily without any additional configuration of the phone settings.

You can do better than that?
The official XML-App Championship is over, but you can still register, write your own app and upload it!
Each contestant may submit up to three entries for each category (Business & Lifestyle). The application source code must be made available to the community under the GPL GNU license (over our plattform as a download).
A link to a running version / Demo must also be included.
While programming your application, the source code must be published under the terms of the GPL GNU-license. It is thus accessible for everyone and assigned to the public. Anyone mas use of modify it, as long as they retain the copyright notice of the original author.
Contest entries can only be accepted if they have been created by the contestants in their entirety.
